Step-by-Step Fix
- Inspect the outdoor fan — With the system off, look through the fan grille or top panel for debris. Remove any obstruction. Spin the fan blade by hand — it should rotate freely with no binding or scraping.
- Check for ice — In heating mode during cold weather, ice can build up and jam the fan. Allow the unit to defrost (defrost mode or ambient heat) and clear the ice before restarting.
- Power-cycle the outdoor unit — Turn off the breaker for 5 minutes. Restore and test. If CH67 clears and doesn’t return, the fault may have been a momentary obstruction.
