When your LG mini split blows warm air instead of cooling, you are seeing a symptom rather than a specific fault code. The unit may be running but not delivering cold air, or it may feel like room-temperature or slightly warm air is coming from the indoor head. LG documents that low refrigerant (fault code CH38 or F4) is the most relevant coded failure for this complaint, but many warm-air cases happen without any error code at all.

  5. Check that both the indoor and outdoor circuit breakers are on and that the communication wiring between units is secure at the terminal blocks.
  6. If the unit is in heating mode and the outdoor coil is iced, allow the defrost cycle to complete (typically 5 to 15 minutes) before diagnosing further.
  7. If no code is present and airflow is clean, measure refrigerant pressures at the service ports and check operating temperatures to detect undercharge or a refrigerant leak, especially if code CH38 or F4 was displayed.
  8. After cleaning filters and coils or repairing wiring or refrigerant leaks, run the system in cooling mode and confirm cold air discharge, compressor operation, and stable indoor temperature drop.
