Likely parts to price
Common VFD, drive, UPS, and cabinet overheating failure point.
Useful to price when faults involve display, keypad, or operator-panel behavior.
Low-cost first check for power-stage and line-side faults.
Price this on drive overvoltage, braking, or deceleration faults.
Emerson Fisher FIELDVUE digital valve controllers (DVC6200, DVC2000, DVC6100) use HART communication and AMS Device Manager to report fault alerts, failures, and advisories. Alerts are organized by category: failed, maintenance required, advisory, and out-of-specification.
| Alert | Category | Meaning | Quick Fix |
|---|---|---|---|
| Drive Signal High/Low | Failed | Output current out of range | Check I/P module and supply pressure |
| Valve Deviation | Failed | Valve not reaching setpoint | Check actuator and process load |
| Supply Pressure Low | Failed | Instrument supply pressure below limit | Check supply regulator |
| Sensor Failure | Failed | Position or pressure sensor fault | Replace sensor |
| Travel Accumulation | Advisory | Valve has traveled set distance | Schedule packing inspection |
| Travel Deviation | Maintenance | Valve slow to respond | Inspect actuator and positioner |
| Cycle Counter | Advisory | Valve cycle count reached | Schedule inspection |
| NVM Failure | Failed | Non-volatile memory error | Replace instrument |
The DVC6200 output current to the I/P transducer is out of range. Check that instrument supply pressure is adequate (typically 20–100 psi depending on actuator). A clogged supply port or failing I/P module causes this alarm.
The valve is not reaching its commanded position within the configured travel deviation limit and time. Check for: actuator diaphragm failure, high process pressure, stem packing that is too tight, or a mechanical obstruction. Run the partial stroke test to isolate the issue.
Confirm the supply pressure regulator is set correctly (minimum 5 psi above actuator spring range). Check for supply air leaks at the positioner inlet and actuator connections.
Fisher FIELDVUE instruments support several diagnostic routines through AMS or ValveLink:
| Part | Notes |
|---|---|
| I/P module | Replace if drive current alarms persist |
| Position sensor | Replace on sensor failure alerts |
| Supply pressure regulator | Replace if supply pressure alarms occur |
| Packing set | Replace on high friction diagnostics |
Before ordering, match the commercial equipment part to the model number, electrical rating, and failure symptom. Check current prices on Amazon - prices and availability change frequently.
HART configuration, loop calibration, and valve signature analysis require AMS or ValveLink software. Fisher-authorized service providers offer on-site diagnostics.
