Samsung Refrigerator 25E Error Code - Causes & Fix

25E flags an ice maker fault, often no water reaching the tray. A failing water inlet valve is a frequent cause and common replacement part.

Samsung Refrigerator 25E Error Code — What It Means

The 25E code signals the ice making system is not working as expected. The board may see a stuck ice maker, a frozen line, or no water reaching the tray.

A weak or failed water inlet valve is one of the most common roots, since the valve must open and pass enough water to fill the ice mold.

Common Causes

Step-by-Step Fix

  1. Run a forced ice maker test or reset using the test button on the assembly.
  2. Check that the household supply and saddle valve are fully open with good pressure.
  3. Thaw any frozen fill tube by unplugging and letting the area warm, then dry it.
  4. Unplug the fridge and check the water inlet valve for power and continuity with a multimeter.
  5. Confirm supply pressure at the valve is at least 20 psi.
  6. Replace the water inlet valve if it has power and pressure but still will not fill.
  7. Restore power, run a fresh ice cycle, and confirm the code clears.

Parts Often Needed

PartNotes

When to Call a Pro

If water reaches the tray and the valve checks out but 25E persists, the ice maker control or main board may be involved. Bring in a technician for board level ice maker diagnosis.
