Samsung Oven E-27 Error Code - Causes & Fix

2 min read
⚡ Quick Answer

E-27 means the oven temperature sensor circuit reads open. The usual fix is testing and replacing the temperature sensor.

Samsung Oven E-27 Error Code — What It Means

E-27 is an open circuit fault on the Samsung oven temperature sensor. The board sends a reference through the sensor and got no return, so it reads the circuit as broken.

This is almost always the sensor itself or its wiring. A good sensor reads about 1080 ohms at room temperature. An open reading means the probe element or a harness lead has failed.

Common Causes

Step-by-Step Fix

  1. Cut power at the breaker for one minute, restore it, and see if E-27 returns.
  2. Pull the range and remove the back panel to reach the sensor harness.
  3. Unplug the temperature sensor connector and check the pins for corrosion or a loose fit.
  4. Set a multimeter to ohms and measure the sensor. Expect about 1080 ohms at room temperature.
  5. Replace the sensor if it reads open or no continuity.
  6. Trace the harness for a break and reseat the connector at both ends.
  7. If the sensor and wiring test good, suspect the control board input.

Parts Often Needed

PartNotes
Samsung oven temperature sensor (probe)Amazon | OEM part DG32-00002B fits many Samsung ranges. Confirm against your model first.
Oven sensor wire harnessAmazon | Use when a lead is cut or chafed rather than the probe.
Samsung range main control boardAmazon | Last resort after the sensor and harness test good.

When to Call a Pro

If the sensor reads in spec and the harness is intact, the open is inside the board sensing circuit. Board work is harder to diagnose, so have a tech confirm it before you order a replacement board.
