Samsung Dishwasher bE Error Code - Causes & Fix

2 min read
⚡ Quick Answer

bE means a button is stuck on the control panel. Clean the buttons first, then replace the panel or membrane if one stays pressed.

Samsung Dishwasher bE Error Code — What It Means

The bE code (shown as 6E on some models) means the control detects a button held down, or stuck, on the panel. The dishwasher reads a continuous press it never gets released.

This is usually a sticky or swollen button on the touch panel rather than a deeper electrical fault.

Common Causes

Step-by-Step Fix

  1. Hold Start or Cancel for about 3 seconds to try a reset, then watch for the code to clear.
  2. If it returns, disconnect power and wipe the control panel and every button clean.
  3. Press each button in turn to feel for one that sticks or does not spring back.
  4. Let the panel dry fully if there is any sign of moisture behind it.
  5. Restore power and run a cycle to see if bE stays gone.
  6. If a single button keeps sticking, plan to replace the touch panel or membrane.
  7. Check the panel ribbon connector for pinching or corrosion before fitting a new panel.

Parts Often Needed

PartNotes
Samsung dishwasher control panelAmazon | Match the panel to your exact model, since button layout varies.
Touch button membraneAmazon | Only if your model offers the membrane as a separate part.
Panel ribbon connectorAmazon | Replace if the ribbon is pinched or corroded at the board.

When to Call a Pro

If cleaning and drying do not free the stuck button and a new panel does not clear bE, the main control board may be reading the fault. A technician can confirm whether the panel or board is at fault before another swap.
