E3 — Ignition Failure
The gas burner failed to light during the ignition sequence. Check:
- Gas supply pressure at the manifold (typically 4–7 inches WC for natural gas)
- Igniter condition — visually inspect, listen for spark during ignition attempt
- Flame sensor (thermocouple or ionization rod) — check continuity
- Gas valve operation — verify coil resistance (typically 600–1000 ohms on main valve)
E5 — Air Switch Fault
The combustion air proving switch confirms the blower is operating before allowing gas to flow. If the blower is running but the air switch doesn’t close, check: air switch setting, blower wheel dirty or damaged, air switch tubing pinched or disconnected.
Conveyor Belt Issues
Lincoln Impinger conveyor belt problems are mechanical, not typically coded:
- Belt not moving — Check drive motor, speed control board, and belt tension
- Belt tracking off — Adjust end plate roller alignment
