LG Dryer F0 Error Code - Causes & Fix

2 min read
⚡ Quick Answer

F0 means the lint filter is out or not detected. The common fix is reseating the filter or replacing the lost filter magnet.

LG Dryer F0 Error Code — What It Means

F0 means the dryer cannot detect the lint filter in place. A small magnet in the filter tells a sensor the filter is seated, and without that signal the dryer stops and shows F0.

Most of the time the filter is just not pushed in fully, but a missing magnet will also trip the code.

Common Causes

Step-by-Step Fix

  1. Remove the lint filter and clear any lint from it and from the housing.
  2. Reseat the filter by pushing it fully down until it sits flush.
  3. Check for the magnet in the filter frame and confirm it is present and secure.
  4. Replace the filter if the magnet is gone or the frame is cracked.
  5. Power cycle the dryer by unplugging it for one minute, then try a cycle.
  6. Inspect the sensor wiring behind the filter housing if the code stays.
  7. Run a cycle to confirm F0 clears once the filter is detected.

When to Call a Pro

F0 is usually a quick filter or magnet fix you can do yourself. If a good filter with its magnet still triggers F0, the detection sensor or its wiring may have failed, and an appliance pro can confirm and replace that part.
