GE Oven F350 Error Code - Causes & Fix

3 min read
⚡ Quick Answer

F350 means the upper cooling fan isn't spinning correctly. Check for obstructions first, then replace the blower motor if needed.

GE Oven F350 Error Code — What It Means

The F350 error on a GE range tells you the control board has detected a problem with the upper cooling fan circuit. Either the fan is not spinning at the expected speed or the circuit has failed. This fan normally runs during and after cooking to cool internal components and the control board. When the fan is obstructed, the wiring is damaged, or the motor itself has failed, the control throws F350 and may disable the oven to protect electronics from overheating.

Common Causes

Step-by-Step Fix

  1. {‘text’: ‘Power off the range at the circuit breaker and wait two minutes to allow the control board to reset, then restore power and check whether the code returns.’}
  2. {‘text’: ‘Access the upper rear of the range by removing the back panel or lifting the cooktop, depending on your model, so you can see the cooling-fan assembly and wiring.’}
  3. {‘text’: ‘Inspect the fan and vent path for any debris, insulation, or foreign objects wedged against the blower wheel and remove anything you find.’}
  4. {‘text’: ‘Check the fan-motor connector for looseness, corrosion, or pushed-back pins, then unplug and re-seat the connector firmly.’}
  5. {‘text’: ‘Run the control diagnostic mode if your model supports it, command the cooling fan to low speed, and listen for the motor to spin freely without grinding or stalling.’}
  6. {‘text’: “Measure motor resistance across the wiring harness terminals if you have service data for your model (one documented example shows roughly 47 Ω white-to-black and 31 Ω white-to-red, but consult your model’s table).”}
  7. {‘text’: ‘Replace the upper cooling-fan assembly if the motor does not spin, resistance is out of range, or the fan runs but the code persists after clearing obstructions and repairing wiring.’}

Parts Often Needed

PartNotes
GE range upper cooling fan / blower motor assemblyAmazon | Match the part number to your exact model and voltage; the assembly usually includes the motor, wheel, and mounting bracket.
Wiring harness or connector repair kitAmazon | Only needed if you find chafed wires or a damaged plug that cannot be cleaned and re-seated.

When to Call a Pro

Call a qualified appliance technician if you are not comfortable working inside a 240-volt appliance, if you cannot locate the cooling fan after removing panels, or if the error returns after you have cleared obstructions and replaced the blower motor. A persistent F350 after part replacement can indicate a control-board fault that requires board-level diagnosis and possibly a new electronic control.
