What This Error Means
E25 indicates the drain pump cannot move water. The pump impeller may be physically jammed by debris, or the pump motor has failed electrically.
Common Causes
- Debris in the pump impeller — A piece of glass, bone, a pit from an olive, or any hard object can jam the impeller and prevent it from spinning.
- Clogged filter reducing pump suction — Even if the impeller is free, a packed filter can starve the pump of water flow.
- Failed pump motor — The motor has burned out.
Step-by-Step Fix

Clean the filter system first. Follow the same steps as E24:
- Remove lower rack.
- Unscrew and remove the cylindrical filter (counterclockwise quarter turn, lift out).
- Lift out the flat filter beneath it.
- Rinse both under the faucet with a scrub brush.
- Reinstall.

Check the pump impeller. With the filters removed, you can see into the drain pump area. Reach in carefully — there may be sharp glass. Feel the impeller (the spinning component). Try to rotate it by hand.
- If it rotates freely, the motor may have failed.
- If it’s jammed, find what’s blocking it. Common culprits: small bones, cherry pits, olive pits, broken glass, toothpicks.

Remove the obstruction. Use needle-nose pliers or tweezers to pull out whatever is jamming the impeller. Run a rinse cycle to test.

If impeller is free but pump doesn’t run, listen during a drain cycle. A running pump makes a distinct hum. Silence during drain = pump motor failed.
