Before you reset it

  1. Write down the code, runtime hours, fuel type, battery voltage, and recent maintenance date.
  2. Check oil level, air filter, battery terminals, fuel supply, and transfer-switch status.
  3. For no-start faults, inspect spark plug, ignition coil, fuel solenoid, and low-oil switch sequence.
  4. For voltage or frequency faults, avoid load testing until the basic service items pass.

When to stop

Stop for fuel leaks, transfer-switch faults, carbon-monoxide risk, utility interlock issues, or voltage faults under load.
